Dr. H. Raymond Klein graduated from Indiana University's Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Program in 1964. Klein was the first Board Certified pediatric dentist in Jacksonville Florida, starting his practice in 1965. He dedicated his career to helping underserved communities improve their oral health care.
Klein served as president on dozens of professional organizations including the American College of Dentists, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Florida Dental Association, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the Jacksonville Dental Society and was serving as president of the American College of Dentists Foundation. Additionally, he was on the Board of Trustees of the American Dental Association. Throughout his career, Klein won numerous awards, including the Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, the Northeast Florida District Dental Society and the Jacksonville Dental Society. Also, he won the President's Award as well as the Dentist of the Year award from the Florida Dental Association. IUSD recognized him as Distinguished Alumnus of the Year in 1997. In 2008, the Florida Section of the American College of Dentists honored him with the H. Raymond Klein Fund to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry.
