Pamela A. Steed is an oral medicine specialist who focuses on patients with Temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders, based in Indianapolis. She first worked as a dental hygienist, but had suffered from TMJ in her teens and encountered many other patients with the same disorder so she decided to enter dentistry. Steed received her D.D.S., Specialist Certificate, and M.S.D. in 1983, 1984, and 1990 respectively. Since 1984, Steed has worked both at St. Vincent Hospital and IU Hospital. Due to her specialty in TMJ, Steed contributes significant research in the fields of diagnostic imaging and psychometric analysis.
Throughout her career, Steed has been active in the dental community, serving as a board member for numerous scientific academies and has Diplomate status at the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain along with Fellowship status at the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics. Steed has also won a variety of honors, such as the James L. Maus Scholar, IUSD Distinguished Alumnus Award, and Clinician of the Year from the Academy of Functional Orthodontics.
