- Z.G. Clevenger Award - 1987
A native of Brownstown, Herrmann graduated from IU in 1948. Recruited to IU by basketball coach Harry Good in 1944, Herrmann played for both Good and Branch McCracken. He was one of the first athletes in the Big Ten to receive four varsity letters in basketball following World War II during freshman eligibility. After leaving IU, Herrmann moved to Columbus and became vice president of marketing for Essex Castings Inc.
