Bette Davenport served 19 years as IU East Alumni Director and a total of 27 years on the IU campus. While director, she was instrumental in leading the organization of the IU East Alumni Association, which was chartered in 1989. Bette has also been actively involved in alumni relations, development, ceremonies, special events and local alumni chapters.
Beginning in 2004, she assumed a volunteer role with the IUAA. Upon her retirement, Davenport was honored with a School of Continuing Studies Distinguished Alumni Award, and an IU East scholarship of $1,000 was created in her name. Davenport was awarded the IU East Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006. She currently serves as a liaison between the IUAA and the Whitewater Valley and Henry County chapters.
