Jane Boubel is a municipal parks and recreation director and consultant, currently serving as a co-chair of the Public Affairs & Community Planning Committee for the Sunriver Owners Association in Sunriver, OR. She holds a bachelor's degree from University of Oregon and a master's from Indiana University. Previously, Boubel was the Director of Parks, Arts and Recreation for the city of Olympia, Washington for 18 years. During her time in Olympia, she transformed the parks maintenance department into a full service parks, arts and recreation department that now offers youth and family recreation programs and an active arts program. Boubel was also instrumental in the creation of a 20 year plan for parks acquisition and development, and Olympia's park system doubled in size during her tenure.
Her career also include positions with the city of Ketchikan, Alaska, Girl Scouts and Outdoor Schools. Boubel has been active nationally with Agency Accreditation, Professional Certification, Congress Program Committee, Pacific NW Regional Council and the Pacific NW Maintenance Management School. She served as a board member of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition, member of the Washington State Parks panel on potential park strategies and the resulting legislative efforts to maintain parks and funding, and active member of the Washington Recreation and Parks Association.
