Steven N. Blair, P.E.D., is a professor at the Arnold School of Public Health for University of South Carolina and an affiliated faculty member of the Prevention Research Center in Columbia, SC. He holds degrees from Kansas Wesleyan University, Indiana University, and Stanford University. His area of interests include research on physical activity, health promotion, and disease prevention. Blair's primary research focuses on the role of physical activity on all-cause mortality, prevention and reduction of cardio-vascular diseases and cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
Blair was honored with the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation W.W. Patty Distinguished Service Award from Indiana University in 1993.
