Sandra Little Groves served as a faculty member and administrator with Illinois State University, retiring as its director of graduate studies in 2006. She began her tenure at ISU as a professor and graduate coordinator in the Department of Kinesiology & Recreation in the College of Applied Science & Technology and became the director of the Graduate School in 1995. Groves' leadership includes advocacy for graduate education at the university and individual attention to graduate students abroad in international programs. She was a recipient of the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation W.W. Patty Distinguished Service Award from Indiana University in 2002.
