Clark Wissler received his AB in 1897 and AM in 1899 from IU. He was curator of the American Museum of Natural History, 1906-1941, professor of anthropology at Yale from 1924-1940, and consulting anthropologist for the Bishop Museum in Honolulu in 1920. He was the author of several books on American Indians and ranked as one of the best anthropologists of his time.
