Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth Graham Pinnell was born in April 1923 in Fairmont, West Virginia. She was the daughter of James Hugh and Nell Graham. Dot, after graduation from high school, attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and became a stage actress appearing on Broadway. In her later years, she appeared in a number of television commercials with Bob Knight. From the time Dot and her husband, George, moved to Bloomington in 1953, she was a passionate Indiana University basketball fan. She was presented the IU Foundation's President's Medallion in 2002.
Dot was a member of Tri Kappa, a philanthropic organization; and a member of First United Methodist Church in Bloomington.
Dot passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005, at the age of 82.
