Miles C. Gerberding received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University. During law school, he was on the Indiana Law Journal Student Editorial Staff. After graduating from law school, Gerberding went to work for Nieter & Smith in Fort Wayne. He was a partner from 1986 to 1997 at Barnes & Thornburg and currently is of Counsel. He is also a sole practitioner in Frankfort, Michigan. He focuses on estate planning, wills, trusts, business organizations, and real estate.
Gerberding served as the president of the Benzie County Bar Association, and as the director of the United Way of Allen County. Gerberding has served as chair of the Law School Board of Visitors. Other positions he has held include past president of the Indiana State Bar Association and served as a state delegate from the Indiana to American Bar Association. He is a fellow of The American College Trusts and Estates Counsel and The American College of Tax Counsel.
Gerberding was listed in The Best Lawyers in America from 1986-1998 in the Corporate, Tax and Trusts and Estates categories. He is also a Korean War U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
