About Joe C. Christian

Joe C. Christian is the Professor Emeritus of Medical & Molecular Genetics. Dr. Christian received his M.S., Ph.D. and M.D. degrees from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Christian joined the Indiana University faculty in 1966 after a residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University. He is board-certified in clinical genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

Dr. Christian is a life member of the American Society of Human Genetics. He serves on the Twins Committee of the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council. His research concentrates on the genetics of aging and osteoporosis. Dr. Christian is the director of the Indiana University Twin Panel.
