Dr. William H. Beeson is a respected plastic surgeon based in Carmel, IN. A 1976 graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine, he completed his residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Beeson then completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is triple board certified in three areas: American Board of Otolaryngology, American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Beeson has been in practice since 1982 and currently heads the Beeson Cosmetic Surgery, LLC. He had the first facial plastic surgery facility accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). He is also a clinical professor at Indiana University School of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology and the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, as well as the author of several medical textbooks and numerous medical journal articles. Additionally, Dr. Beeson has been a Preceptor for the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program for over 17 years and a Preceptor for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program.
Due to his strong reputation in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Beeson lectured throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia. In addition, he has appeared on ABC's Good Morning America and has been quoted in such respected national publications as The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Town and Country, Harper's Bazaar, and Cosmopolitan. Dr. Beeson serves on the editorial advisory boards of many respected medical publications and is also Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for the Saturday Evening Post.
His research focuses on facial plastic surgery. Dr. Beeson has directed clinical research projects, and served as a clinical consultant for multiple medical laser, surgical equipment, and pharmaceutical corporations. His work has been published in numerous textbooks and medical journals. Dr. Beeson has also produced instructional videos for doctors in plastic surgery.
He has been involved in a variety of professional organizations. Currently, he is a member of Joint Commission Patient Safety Advisory Committee, director on the board of directors of National Patient Safety Foundation, President for Facial Plastic Surgery of International Society for Cosmetic Laser Surgery, Vice President for International Society for Cosmetic and Laser Surgery, and President of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Dr. Beeson is a Past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a Past President of the Indiana State Medical Association, a Past President of the Indianapolis Medical Society, and a Past President of the International Society for Cosmetic Laser Surgery.
Dr. Beeson's accomplished career has brought many awards, including the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Indiana University School of Medicine, the President's Award from the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the Scholastic Award from the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery, and the John Clark Leadership Award from the Federation of State Medical Boards. He was made a Sagamore Wabash by Governor O'Bannon and named a Distiquished Hoosier by Governor Daniels.
