Since 1990, John Nash has served as president and chief operating officer of Irwin Financial Corporation of Columbus, Indiana, an interrelated group of specialized financial services companies organized as a bank holding company. The Corporation's subsidiaries offer a broad range of financial services to consumers and small businesses in selected markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. He joined the organization in 1966 and has held various positions within the Corporation.
He began his banking career in 1961 at National City Bank in Cleveland after completing his MBA at IU and serving in the U.S. Army.
Nash has maintained close ties to Indiana University since graduation. A life member of the IU Alumni Association, he has served as national chairman and chaired the fund drive for the DeVault Alumni Center. He is a past president of the Kelley School of Business Alumni Association and is a member of the Dean's Advisory Council. For his distinguished contributions to Indiana University, he received the Bicentennial Medal.
His community activities have included serving as chairman of the Columbus Economic Development Board, chairman of the Columbus Regional Hospital Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, and president of the United Way of Bartholomew County. He also is a former chairman of the Indiana Bankers Association. He and his wife, Susan, reside in Columbus.
