Jo Ann Linsmith was a retired teacher who taught in Indiana and Florida. Linsmith recieved her B.S. from Indiana University in 1972 and her M.S. from Butler University in 1974.
Linsmith first taught at the Shelbyville Central Schools in Shelbyville, IN. After her husband retired from teaching, they moved to Bradenton, FL, where she continued her teaching career until her retirement in 1991. Linsmith established the first alumni group for IU in Manatee and Sarasota Counties and was later named as one of the outstanding alumni chapter presidents. She also served on the IU Executive Council for three years, during which she established an academic scholarship for outstanding students in financial need.
