About Ernestine M. Raclin
Ernestine M. Raclin contributed significantly to the performing arts both on the South Bend campus and the surrounding community. She championed two major fund raisers to support the highly successful Toradze Concerto Instritute and the IUSB Iano Festival, in 1998 and 2000.
She served as chair of the South Bend Symphony Board as well as Chair of the Northern Indiana Partnership for the Arts. Her family name is proudly associated with South Bend's Performing Arts Center, the Morris Performing Arts Center. Mrs. Raclin served on the IU Foundation Board and was chair of both IUSB's Advisory Board and Capital Campaign Committee; in the latter capacity she provided a lead gift of one million dollars.
Not only was Mrs. Raclin awarded an honorary degree in 1999, but IU South Bend's School of the Arts was named in her honor in 2003.
