- IUAA President's Award - 1994
James A. Baumgartner was a former IU employee who worked both at the Bloomington and South Bend campuses as the coordinator of the Disabled Student Services Office. He also was a co-owner of Baumgartner's Restaurant in Warsaw, IN. Baumgartner was an exemplary volunteer in the community, having worked as the coordinator of volunteer services at the College Football Hall of Fame, as a past district governor of District G, and participated in the Clay Township Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Mizpah Shrine.
Baumgartner was an IU alumnus, and active in the IUAA. He helped established and led the Kosciusko Co. Indiana University Alumni Association for which he received the President's Award. He also was an Alumni Association Life Member and a member of the Varsity Club.
