A native of Miami, Florida, Jackson won basketball letters from 1981-84 and was 1st team All-Big Ten in 1983 and 1984 and District All-American in 1983 and 1984. She was two-time Wade Trophy finalist and IU Female Athlete-of-the-Year in 1983. Denise was Indiana's all-time leading scorer with 1,917 points and all-time leading rebounder with 1,263 rebounds and averaged 15.6 points and 10.3 rebounds in her career. She led team in scoring two years and in rebounding four years and shares IU single game rebound record with 22. She currently resides in Savannah, Georgia and worked four years for the Centers for Disease Control and 18 years for the Chatham County Health Department. She currently is Client Services Coordinator for Access Mental Health Agency.
