About Carlton Sanders
Judge Carlton Sanders earned his B.S. in business from Indiana University-Southeast. He was an employee of the pre-Aegon company, Capital Holding Corporation after graduation. Sanders then studied law and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville in 1976. After admission to the Indiana Bar and U.S. Federal Bar, Carlton opened his own law firm and became a member of the Harrison/Crawford Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Carlton served as Harrison County Superior Court Judge for 12 years until his semi-retirement in 1997. He has maintained his certification as a practicing attorney and occasionally serves as a special judge and judge pro tem in surrounding counties. He and his wife Sue donated over $560,000 in 2008 to the IU Southeast Business School, which launched the Sanders Speaker Series and Sanders Financial Markets Lab, along with creating the first endowed chair for the department.
