Faye Price is a director, actor, dramaturg, and arts leader who has significantly influenced Minnesota theater by bringing seminal work of Black artists to the forefront and combining live theater with social justice. She was the co-artistic producing director of Pillsbury House Theatre for 21 years and a founding member of both Penumbra Theatre and Mixed Blood Theatre. She originated numerous roles and created foundational work by Black artists that are now part of the American theater canon.
Price’s reputation for her brilliance, lucidity, and work ethic remains wherever she goes, continuing to inspire future actors. In appreciation of her community service, her artistic contributions, and her innovative spirit, Price was presented an Indiana University East Chancellor and Provost Medallion by David Fulton in 2000.
