About Gertrude Bluemel

Gertrude Bluemel was a nursing educator at Brerea College (KY) and Valparaiso University. She attended Indiana University and graduated with a master's degree in nursing administration. Bluemel also held a degree from Frontier Nursing School of Midwifery. Throughout her career, she worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in Indianapolis and northwest Indiana.

She received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Indiana University School of Nursing in 1975.
