About Joyce Q. Rogers, Esq.

As Vice President of Development for Ivy Tech Community College, Joyce Q. Rogers provides vision, leadership and statewide direction for fundraising and development efforts for the nation’s largest statewide community college system with a single accreditation. Joyce leads the college’s development efforts working across 14 regions and 23 campuses and is responsible for the daily management of the Ivy Tech Foundation which provides resources to support scholarships, technology, capital needs and other priorities of the college.

Serving as the first COO for Indiana Black Expo, Joyce later became the first woman to serve as the organization’s President and CEO. In 2007, Joyce lead efforts to partner with NAWBO to host Senegal’s first female Minister of Tourism along with a delegation of women business owners from Senegal. During her tenure she also led efforts to purchase for Indiana the nation’s second prostate cancer medical mobile unit, collaborated with the National Heritage Academy to create the Andrew J. Brown Academy Charter School, and negotiated major partnerships promoting education with the state’s major universities.

Joyce has served on many boards and organizations including Indiana State University Trustee, United Way of Central Indiana, Goodwill Industry Foundation, The Mind Trust Board, Indiana Fever Advisory, Greater Indianapolis Project Committee (GIPC), and WFYI Board to name a few. A Stanley K. Lacey graduate, her numerous awards and recognitions include the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Governor Frank O’Bannon; the Coretta Scott King Matriarch Award; The Indiana Commission for Women Torchbearers Award; YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Award; Radio One Indianapolis, Today’s Woman Leadership Award; Stacy Toran Excellence Award; Woman of Great Esteem Award; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Community Service Award; and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Breakthrough Woman Award, highlights several recognitions of her efforts.
