Ewing Rabb Emison Jr. was the president of the Indiana State Bar Association from 1986 to 1987. He graduated with a J.D. from Indiana University in 1950 and joined his father, Ewing Emison, Sr., at the Emison, Doolittle, Kolb, & Roellgen in Vincennes, IN. Emison spent his entire law career with the firm.
Throughout his career, Emison was known for creating opportunities for minorities in the legal profession. The American Bar Association's Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession awarded him the Spirit of Excellence Award in 2003. In addition, the Indiana State Bar Association created the Rabb Emison Award in his honor to recognize members who promote diversity and equality in the field.
