Leon R. Kaminski is a retired partner of Newby, Lewis, Kaminski and Jones LLP in Indianapolis. Throughout his career, Kaminski was experienced in mediation, litigation and professional liability defense, having participated in more than 700 cases. Along with his degree in law, he is a certified alternative dispute resolution mediator by the Indiana Commission for Continuing Legal Education. After graduating from law school in 1950, Kaminski started his own practice in La Porte, IN. He merged with the Newby & Lewis law firm in 1958.
Over the years, Kaminski has earned many awards for his work, including the Distinguished Alumni Service Award from Indiana University School of Law; Indianapolis (1988) and Sagamore of the Wabash (1999). The Indiana General Assembly recognized him in 2000 with a resolution honoring his professional and community contributions. In the same year, the Indiana Bar Foundation awarded him the Legendary Lawyer Award.
