Carole Hahn is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Educational Studies at Emory University. Hahn teaches social studies and comparative education, and researches cross national studies of citizenship education, gender issues and social studies.
Hahn has won numerous awards throughout her career, including the Jean Dresden Grambs Distinguished Career Research in Social Studies Award from the National Council for the Social Studies, the IU School of Education Distinguished Alumni Award, the Jubilee Award from the Danish Secondary Teachers' Union, the Exemplary Research Award from the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). Hahn is past President of NCSS and was the National Research Coordinator for the US portion of the Civic Education Study conducted under the auspices of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA).
