James Chung Yuan Wang is the chairman of Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd., in Taipei, Taiwan. The studio, also known as Cuckoo's Nest Studio, is one of the oldest and most prolific Tawainese animation studios, which was founded in 1978 in Hsintien. Originally, it was an overseas studio for the U.S. animation company, Hanna-Barbera.
Wang first worked in banking after obtaining a B.A. in economics at Soochow University, working at the Medium Business Bank of Taiwain. Next, he earned a master's degree in audio-visual education at IU in 1977. Wang worked at a New York City design firm and Hanna-Barbera before returning to Taiwan in 1978 to establish his animation studio. Since its creation, the studio has produced over 3,300 TV episodes, 62 feature-length films (including films and DVDs), and specials for clients around the globe. Several of the company's works includes production for Nelvana's Care Bears franchise, Film Roman's Garfield and Friends, Klasky Csupo's Rugrats pilot and first season, Disney's DuckTales and Cartoon Network's Courage the Cowardly Dog.
