IUAA President's Award - 2014

About Jo Ann Bergman

When Jo Ann and John Bergman, of Melbourne, Florida, were approached in 2006 to help reorganize the Southwest Florida Chapter of the IUAA, they started with four people. After calling, emailing and writing letters to area alumni, they built a board of directors and began attracting more alumni to attend events and raise scholarship money.

To date, more than 300 Southwest Florida alumni have attended at least one of the chapter’s events, and the chapter has raised nearly $20,000 for scholarships. Called the driving force behind the chapter’s revitalization, Jo Ann has helped the chapter become proactive and award-winning.
