A Bloomington native, Adam Nichols graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. Nichols was a Cox Research Scholar and a participant in the Science, Technology, and Research Scholars Program (STARS). During his undergraduate career, Nichols worked as an undergraduate researcher in the M.K. Brown and Mindiola chemistry laboratories.
Nichols was involved in outreach programs that connected IU's campus with the Bloomington community. He was the President of the IU Science Outreach Society, a counselor for IU's Science Olympiad Summer Camp, and the dance coordinator for the Bloomington Old time Music and Dance Group. He was also a High Holiday Service Leader at the Hillel Center. Following graduation, Nichols accepted a position with Eli Lilly and Company.
