About John Templeton Foundation

The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with the John Templeton Foundation, which in 2014 donated a gift to support Generosity for Life: The Science and Art of Living Generously. The project is a scientifically based approach to explore the art of generosity and its evolution throughout the life of an individual, learning what factors increase generosity. The project will feature an interactive Web platform that will ensure more students, scholars and non-scholars can access the data in a simpler, more understandable format.

The John Templeton Foundation serves as a philanthropic catalyst for discoveries relating to the Big Questions of human purpose and ultimate reality. It was founded in 1987 by Sir John Templeton, who had made his fortune in international investment, to fund scholarship and discovery across disciplines.
