Dr. Margaret "Peg" Watanabe has a long history of supporting Herron School of Art and Design. In a fitting tribute to the artistic career of her mother, Eleanor Prest Reese, Watanabe made a gift to name a Herron gallery in her honor. Watanabe has also been instrumental in raising funds for Herron's study abroad scholarships, and she recently established the Margaret R. Watanabe International Studies Scholarship and two RISE scholarships -- one in her name and one in her son Scott's name (BFA'96). Watanabe is a founding member of Herron's Dean's Advisory Board and served on Herron's Capital Campaign Council. She is also a member of the IU Foundation Board of Directors, the Women's Philanthropy Council, the IU School of Medicine's J.O. Ritchey Society, and the IU Foundation's Arbutus Society, Well House Society and Presidents Circle.
