- IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2014
Throughout his career with AT&T, Charlie Green has been active in the community. AT&T was a key partner to the campus when the IUPUI University Library was built. Following the construction of the library, Green served as the primary connection between AT&T and the library. He initially connected with the library through his professional role at AT&T Indiana and joined the University Library’s Community Board of Advocates in 2004. The Board is responsible for advising the library’s Dean, assisting with community outreach, and supporting fundraising efforts. Beginning in 2009, he served as president of the group. During his tenure, Green has helped the University Library build relationships with other community leaders and cultivated philanthropic gifts that transformed library programs and learning spaces to better meet the needs of students. Green stepped down from the library's community board in spring 2014 to pursue other volunteer endeavors.
