About Dr. Eugene Rickard

Eugene Rickard completed his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971. Upon the completion of his doctorate, Rickard began what would be a 32-year career as a research scientist at Eli Lilly and Company. Throughout his long career, Rickard worked in product development, wrote a number of scientific publications, and was a leader in the company's international collaborative development projects. He retired in 2003, but has remained active in the field by sharing his professional expertise as a consultant and adviser to various companies.

Rickard and his wife, Dr. Karyl Rickard, endowed the Dr. Karyl Rickard Pediatric Nutrition award. Their generous contribution will help to support the next generation of pediatric dietitians. This annual award recognizes students who demonstrate potential for significant contributions to the profession of pediatric nutrition.
