Dr. Martin Pentz has been medical consultation ethics lead at the VA Medical Center for 6 years. He has presented on ethics to numerous audiences. He has been a substance abuse social worker for 10 years at the VA Medical Center. Prior to coming to the VA, he taught social work at Indiana University East and IUPUI for many years.
Dr. Pentz and his wife, Joy, were honored in 2014 for their efforts to get more people involved in medical social work. On a daily basis, Pentz, a military veteran, uses his skill as a social worker to assist a group of people he truly loves: veterans. An IU alumni, Martin serves as a substance abuse social worker and lead ethics consultant with the Veterans Affairs in Indianapolis. Martin and his wife, Joy, created the Elise Pentz Social Work Scholarship in 2010 to assist students interested in oncology and medical social work.
