Reed Oslan completed his JD from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1987. After graduating magna cum laude and as associate editor of the Indiana Law Review, Oslan worked for Ice Miller for about two and a half years before joining Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago. He is now a senior partner in the litigation group. Oslan has extensive experience in handling environmental, commercial, transactional and international disputes. He has devoted substantial time to handling venture capital-related disputes and to litigating in the context of bankruptcy proceedings.
In 2013, Oslan received the IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award for his generous donations to IU. In the 2012-2013 school year, Oslan increased his already substantial financial commitment to provide additional funding for both the Gerald L. Bepko Endowed Chair and the Lawrence A. Jegen III Chair in Tax Law. His donations are born of gratitude to these two professors, whom Oslan has credited with giving him the intellectual foundation upon which he built his successful career.
