Ann Moreau was the school librarian at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Indianapolis for 10 years. She also served as the executive director for the Indiana Library Association (now the Indiana Library Federation) and the Indiana Library Trustee Association. She has also served as a board member of Dove Recovery House for Women, which supports women with a history of substance abuse and addiction to become clean, sober, and self-sufficient. She and her husband, Bill Moreau, are significant financial contributors to many organizations, including The Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) and Dove Recovery House. Moreau has also served as a panelist for the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Family Foundation's Indiana Authors Award.
In 2013, Moreau and her husband were honored with the IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award for their support of the IU School of Social Work. Moreau and her husband partnered with The Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention to establish the Joseph W. Fahy Graduate Fellowship in the IU School of Social Work. The $5,000 award commemorates Joseph Fahy, a newspaper reporter who was known for his advocacy on behalf of the vulnerable and voiceless members of society. It assists Master of Social Work students who are interested in the issue of homelessness.
