CSO Architects was founded in 1961. The company takes pride in providing world-class quality, service, and innovation with total design to enhance the human experience through innovation, creativity, and vision. The firm designs settings to live, learn, heal, work, and play. The firm’s projects include the Circle Centre Mall, the Indiana State Government Center North, Anthem Operations Center, numerous office buildings, academic facilities, and the new Indianapolis International Airport. It has been recognized by the Indianapolis Star as one of the top five companies to work for in the Indianapolis area. CSO has been proactive in partnering with Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) organizations.
In 2004, CSO Architects partnered with HKS Maregatti Interiors, Rowland Design, and RJE Business Interiors to work with the IUPUI to create learning environments that foster student success. Their unique collaboration resulted in three Learning Spaces, which are innovative library spaces for individual and collaborative study. In 2012, the design team finished their final project, Learning Spaces III in the University Library. The partners' work transformed an ordinary-looking library study area into a stimulating, interactive space designed to foster a new kind of learning and exploration. Grateful for the design leadership and generosity of the learning spaces partners, the University Library honored them in 2013 with a IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
