HKS Maregatti Interiors was born of a merger between the global architectural firm, HKS, Inc., and Indianapolis-based interior design firm Maregatti Interiors LLC. Prior to their merger, Maregatti Interiors was a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) specializing in interior design for healthcare, educational and commercial clients. Maregatti's distinct local portfolio included work with IU Simon Cancer Center, Lakeland Healthcare, St. Mary’s Good Samaritan, Indiana University School of Medicine Walther Hall and Ascension Health Call Center.
In 2004, HKS Maregatti Interiors partnered with CSO Architects, Rowland Design, and RJE Business Interiors to work with IUPUI to create learning environments that foster student success. Their unique collaboration resulted in three Learning Spaces, which are innovative library spaces for individual and collaborative study. In 2012, the design team finished their final project, Learning Spaces III in the University Library. The partners' work transformed an ordinary-looking library study area into a stimulating, interactive space designed to foster a new kind of learning and exploration.
