Michael Williams graduated from high school in 1975 and became a successful sales representative for Carter Lee Lumber for nearly 20 years. In his early 30s, Williams signed up for a single business course at the IUPUI Kelley School of Business. He liked it so much that he enrolled as a full-time student the following semester, ultimately graduating from the accounting program with high honors in 1995. He was immediately hired by Ernst & Young, which afforded him the opportunity to work across the country and around the world.
A Native of Indianapolis, Williams did forgotten his hometown, nor his Alma Mater. He established an endowed scholarship to benefit a deserving student from the greater Indianapolis area. He continues to support the scholarship annually.
