About Denyce Heidelman

Denyce Heidelman is a registered nurse who has worked as an instructor with Safe Sitter: an organization that provides life skills, safety skills, and child care training to all youth in order to build safer communities. She received the 2012 IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award together with her husband, Dr. Joseph F. Heidelman. In addition to their outstanding longtime contributions to the oral surgery faculty, the Heidelmans have taken a leading position in support of the Hutton Circle, a major fundraising initiative that honors Dr. Charles Hutton, former chair of the Department of Oral Surgery (now Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry), and that was established to benefit IU’s oral and maxillofacial residency program.
