About Dr. Charles M. Wunsch

Dr. Charles M. Wunsch earned his M.D. and bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University, and served as associate professor of medicine and practiced as a board-certified cardiologist. He was director of cardiology at Community Hospital until 1976.

In 2009, the Division of Student Life awarded Dr. Wunsch and his wife, Linda Hojnacki, an IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award for their gift to name the Campus Center atrium at IUPUI. Their generosity ensures that future generations of IUPUI students have a vibrant space to meet, attend events, and experience student life. It was the first planned gift received by the division and reflects the couple's love for Indiana University, Purdue University, and Indianapolis.

In 2020, Dr. Charles M. Wunsch was presented the Bicentennial Medal for his distinguished service to Indiana University.
