- IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2009
Linda Hojnacki received nursing degrees from Purdue University and Indiana University. She was one of the first registered nurses in the country to be certified in critical care nursing. Hojnacki authored the "Handbook of Cardiac Rehabilitation: For Nurses and Other Health Professionals." She also worked as a registered investment advisor.
In 2009, the Division of Student Life awarded Hojnacki and her husband, Dr. Charles Wunsch, an IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award for their gift to name the Campus Center atrium at IUPUI. Their generosity ensures that future generations of IUPUI students have a vibrant space to meet, attend events, and experience student life. It was the first planned gift received by the division and reflects the couple's love for Indiana University, Purdue University, and Indianapolis.
