P.E. MacAllister received a bachelor’s degree from Carroll College in 1940. He joined MacAllister Machinery in 1945 and became the company’s president in 1952. He continued to served as chairman of the board. MacAllister’s leadership to an array of civic boards and organizations, including 17 years on the Capital Improvements Board, has been instrumental in transforming Indianapolis. His passion for opera has transformed the arts community as
well. The MacAllister Awards, the nation’s largest opera competition, has helped boost the careers of many young
singers.
MacAllister is knowledgeable in Greek and Roman history and the Old Testament, about which he has written a book, “Tongue of the Nursling.” Additionally, in 25 years of public broadcasting, he has produced thousands of programs. The Center for Regenerative Biology and Medicine is proud to be among the many organizations to which MacAllister is committed as a benefactor and volunteer.
