- IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2007
St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers was founded in 1914 in Beech Grove. It is now one of the largest healthcare systems in Indiana, with three main campuses, in Beech Grove, Indianapolis, and Mooresville. These hospitals are rooted in the tradition of the Catholic Church and the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. They exist to help the communities around them. A longtime supporter of the Indiana University School of Nursing, St. Francis provided in 2008 in-kind gifts of equipment, books, and other training materials for students in clinical training. In addition, they have been very generous in the area of faculty support and student professional development.
