Clara Woodard is an interior designer, business owner, and philanthropist. With a business partner, she owned and managed "The Shop," an interior design studio at the corner of 65th and Ferguson in Broad Ripple for 33 years. She thrived in the unique, artsy atmosphere of shops, restaurants, and nightclubs in that Indianapolis neighborhood, parlaying her own vibrant and elegant sense of style and design into financial success as an entrepreneur.
In 2005, Woodard established the Harold R. Woodard Professorship to honor her late husband's legacy of teaching excellence in patent and trademark law at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Harold "Hal" Woodard was a senior partner of Woodard, Emhardt, Moriarty, McNett and Henry LLP. As an adjuncy professor in the evening division at the law school, he was passionate about the students, the faculty, and the law school itself.
