Paul Fusanobu Isobe was born in Tokoyo Japan, but received his A.B. from Indiana University in 1909, and completed his graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin in 1911.
Isobe was a Chemical engineer, as well as a technical representative of Japanese Government. In Japan, he aided in the modern development of the soy bean oil industry, and provided soda ash to China and Japan during the war. He was also the first to introduce and develop Claude high pressure process on a commercial level for the synthesis of Ammonia.
