Jerry Throgmartin, President and CEO of H. H. Gregg, is a cancer survivor who was cured of lymphoma 25 years ago. Today he is chairman of the 30-member IU Cancer Center Development Board whose members raise philanthropic resources for the IU School of Medicine’s cancer program.
In 1994, during the School’s first-ever capital campaign, H. H. Gregg committed $125,000 to the IU Cancer Research Institute building fund and shortly after established the H. H. Gregg Professorship with a gift of $500,000. Most recently, Mr. Throgmartin and H. H. Gregg have created a Senior Chair at the $2 million level, to be held by the Director of the IU Cancer Center.
Mr. Throgmartin has stated that because cancer affects virtually every family, including those of H. H.
