Jeremy Efroymson has played a significant role in the development of the visual arts throughout Indianapolis. His efforts, combined with those of his family, have advanced the careers of young artists and enriched the cultural life of the Indianapolis community. Efroymson's involvement with the arts includes gallery owner, publisher of Arts Indiana magazine and developer for the Harrison Centre for the Arts, in addition to his philanthropic pursuits. He is a graduate of IU Law School and is a practicing attorney.
Herron School of Art, IUPUI is honored to count Efroymson among its’ staunchest advocates and friends. His interest in community outreach and arts education have led him to partner with Herron in expanding its lecture series. In the early 2000s, he created the “Jeremy Efroymson Visiting Artist Lecture Series.” The lecture series was developed to inform and enlighten students, faculty and the community about the world of contemporary art. Artists who work in a variety of media, as well as critics and historians from all over the world, visit the campus offering lectures and working with students in the classroom.
Efroymson serves on Herron’s Dean’s Advisory Board, providing opinions and ideas to help further Herron’s mission. In addition to supporting the Herron Galleries, Jeremy has supported student scholarships and is a member of the John Herron Society. In 2002, the Efroymson Family Fund made a significant gift to Herron’s capital campaign which named the Efroymson Family Sculpture Garden on the west side of Eskenazi Hall.
