John W. Leslie, of Potomac, Maryland, has served as chief administrator and consultant in the educational fundraising and management field for over 40 years. One of his most noted professional accomplishments was the creation of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) through the merger of the American College Public Relations Association (ACPRA) and American Alumni Council (ACC). At the time, Mr. Leslie was president of ACPRA, but stepped down when it became CASE to ensure fresh, new leadership.
Mr. Leslie was senior vice president for the highly respected Brakely/John Price Jones firm, and headed its Washington office. He founded his own fundraising consulting firm in 1985. Mr. Leslie also contributed to the establishment of advancement programs at Lewis and Clark College and the University of Houston. An early researcher and author on educational advancement, he is an author of two books and many articles on educational development, alumni, and public relations programs. Mr. Leslie is highly involved with the Center on Philanthropy and currently serves as a volunteer with the advancement program and as a consulting member of the Board of Governors.
