The Efroymson family has a long history of giving back to its community and improving the lives for those in Indianapolis and around the world. In 2001, an academic chair in the amount of $1 million was established at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University to honor the philanthropic legacy of three generations of the Efroymson family – Daniel, Robert and Gustave. The influence of the gift will be felt beyond the nonprofit sector as alumni of the Center on Philanthropy who enter other professions follow in the Efroymson’s footsteps as community leaders.
In 1998, the family created the Efroymson Family Fund, a donor-advised fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation that supports charitable activities in Indiana, the United States and throughout the world. Their gift to the community foundation represents a continuation of Efroymson family commitment to charitable activities in Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, and the country.
