About Amir Pasic

Amir Pasic serves as the Eugene R. Tempel Dean and professor of philanthropic studies at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Pasic completed a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University, M.A. in international relations at Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Pasic is an internationally recognized leader in philanthropy and higher education. Prior to becoming dean of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, he served as vice president of international operations at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), a global professional association serving educational institutions and their advancement professionals. In this role, he provided strategic leadership for CASE regional offices in London, Singapore, and Mexico City, and oversaw CASE activities in Africa and other areas outside of the United States.

Before joining CASE, Pasic was associate dean for development and strategic planning at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) as well as executive director of the Foreign Policy Institute, where he continues to serve as a fellow. He previously was deputy vice president for advancement at George Washington University and deputy director for the world security project of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. A former librarian at the Library of Congress, he began his career with faculty appointments at Brown University's Watson Institute.

Pasic received the IU Bicentennial Medal in August 2019 in recognition of his distinguished service as dean of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
