Karen Hill is a Managing Partner of Collina Ventures. She founded Baker Hill, a financial software company, in 1983 after working at FNB Denver, later acquired by Wells Fargo. Her pioneering work on an Apple IIe to automate the analysis of financial statements led her to start the company in her living room on an IBM PC.
Over the course of 20 years, she built a business that served over 1000 banks, primarily in the US, but also in Australia and Asia. In 2005 the business was acquired by Experian and was successfully transitioned for use by the employees, clients, and stockholders of Experian.
Hill serves on the board of several companies in addition to her role with Collina including BlueLock, Cantaloupe TV, and Conner Prairie.
She raised three daughters, supported their schools and communities in various capacities and inspired Baker Hill to serve the community of Central Indiana. Karen joined CICF’s Legacy Fund Grant Review Committee in January, 2010 and, with her husband Mark, recently accepted an invitation from St. Mary’s College to serve as the school’s Shannon Scholars for 2010.
She began her career with Touche Ross in Chicago. Hill holds a BA from St. Marys College and an MBA from IU..
